Find the Perfect Web Editor for You
Many people are tempted to use CAPTCHAs (those images of characters that are very hard to read that you're supposed to type in to prove you're human) and while they have been beaten, they do provide some protection against spammers. The problem with CAPTCHAs is that they are hard for the readers to use. The best protection on Web forms are things that the spammers see, but everyone else does not. Keep in mind, that all of these solutions are at best holding actions - the spammers are constantly trying to break them and they're sending out millions of attacks every day. But slowing the tide is better than nothing.
